Logic pro x for mac 10.9.512/27/2022 ![]() ![]() It also has a channel count limitation of 16, so not recommended for recording. The latest version is now out for Catalina support:ĭante Via is locked to 48Khz and 10ms of latency. Pay no attention to the listed operating systems, as they are just what we 'officially' support. Have you watched our Getting Started With Dante video series? It's only about thirty minutes and goes over the basics of Dante and simple networks:ĭante Virtual Soundcard will work on OSX 10.9.5 and up. They are detected as a standard network adapter.ĭVS works with CoreAudio, so any audio software should see it as an I/O device the same as any other sound card. Thunderbolt or USB Ethernet adapters work just fine with DVS. ![]() If the DAW software is using up more resources, then our channel count will suffer. It's more about what other software is running on the computer, as the channel count is going to depend on the software you're using. That's the best way to know what the computer can support without problems in the audio. Lots of questions, to start out you should download DVS and start a 14 day trial. It’s all good news including support for macOS 10.15 Catalina support in Danta Virtual Soundcard just available! Received an answer from Audinate in just a few minutes after posting a query to them! Incredibly good support. Hopefully I don’t need this for what I’m planning to do.ĭo you agree I don’t need Dante Via for my simple needs to capture live sound from a Dante enabled device through DVS and record in a DAW for post production? I see this isn’t yet supported in Resolve. If you have DVS defined to the OS, will iTunes see it as an input device? Do you know if GarageBand will currently work as the DAW for DVS? Any idea if this is supported for GarageBand versions that are several years old? Perhaps DVS just appears as an audio input when I have the DVS software installed so that would be simple. The DVS video says you “ use it with iTunes as well, but I don’t see where you define an audio input device looking at the old iTunes or at the new Music app that has replaced iTunes. I did see a reference to Apple GarageBand being used as a DAW for DVS and I have the current version and old versions of this available. ![]() So that looks feasible to add to the MacBook Pro 2013, but lots of money if the only reason I purchased Logic Pro was to record these tracks! They illustrate working with Logic Pro X latest version 10.4.7 requires a minimum MacOS 10.13.6 or later. So I learned that DVS works in conjunction with a DAW to do the actual recording. I can only update this laptop from the Apple App Store to the latest version 10.15.1 I believe but DVS doesn’t support the latest macOS versions.ĭo you know how I can update this laptop to 10.11.6 through 10.13.6? I have access to another laptop that has 4-Core. If I used no more than 32 channels, would 2-Core likely function? If I used a maximum 16 channels, would that likely work given 4-Core is designed for up to 64 channels? Audinate recommendation for 7200 rpm begins with 16 channels. It also only has a 5400 rpm but I could attach a 7200 rpm external disk. This laptop has an Ethernet 1Gb and MacOS 10.11.6 El Capitan which is the oldest software supporting DVS, but it is only a 2-Core processor and the Audinate DVS site specifies a 4-Core processor. I’m very new to this and have a few questions regarding how I can do this with resources I have. I’d like to use Dante Virtual Soundboard (DVS) on a MacBook Pro to record each channel for mixing in post production DaVinci Resolve (not live). ![]() I have access to a prototype soundboard from a vendor which supports Dante AoIP gigabit Ethernet. ![]()
